Steel structure and innovative architecture

Steel structure and innovative architectureThe collaboration between the Unic Rotarex® engineering team and architect Emil Burbea, along with his partners from de Plano architectural studio, gave birth to a remarkable project: the rehabilitation and expansion of a wagon house using lightweight steel structure.

The use of steel structure and innovative architecture allowed the creation of a modern and functional design, adapted to contemporary needs, offering bright and airy interior spaces. The steel structure also allowed the creation of consoles and suspended elements, contributing to a modern aesthetic appearance and optimizing the available space. The flexibility offered by steel allowed the design to be adapted to the constraints of the site and the specific requirements of the project, while ensuring durability and structural stability.

The use of steel structure for this project was dictated by several factors:

  • Low weight: Ideal for extensions, the steel structure does not overload the existing foundation.
  • Flexibility in design: Allows the creation of complex geometries and adaptation to confined spaces.
  • Durability: Resistance to external factors ensures a long lifespan for the construction.
  • Speed of execution: The steel elements are prefabricated and easy to assemble, reducing the total project duration.

This project was selected to be presented at both the BETA Timisoara 2024 Architecture Biennial and the Bucharest Architecture Annual, marking an example of adaptation to the urban context and the use of innovative materials in construction.

We are proud that our expertise in producing steel structures has contributed to this success. Each project we work on reflects our commitment to quality, innovation and respect for the environment. Congratulations to the team of architects for their vision and thanks to everyone involved!
